Today, County Executive Joe Parisi announced that Dane County has invested more than $1.8 million in services to support individuals experiencing homelessness since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Milwaukee, WI (April 19th, 2020) On Sunday, April 19, the Milwaukee County Jail’s contracted medical provider reported that one individual detained in the jail, and one individual released from the jail on Sunday, have tested positive for COVID-19. Neither individual displayed symptoms of COVID-19 while in custody.   The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and the medical provider are conducting rigorous contact tracing. Additionally, MCSO and the medical provider are working closely with the Milwaukee Health Department to ensure that all treatment, isolation, and quarantine protocols adhere to established best practices.
