MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today his appointment of Katie Sloma as circuit judge for Shawano-Menominee Counties. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James Habeck. “Katie Sloma will be an excellent judge for the people of Shawano and Menominee Counties. DNR: Rock Island State Park Closed for the Season

Contact: DNR Press, dnrpress@wisconsin.gov MADISON, Wis. – Due to high water levels on Lake Michigan, accessibility limitations, and COVID-19 and social distancing concerns, Rock Island State Park will be closed for the remainder of the year. The Washington Island Ferry Line had suspended trips to and from Rock Island State Park earlier this year and have extended that suspension through the end of the 2020 season. High water has also submerged piers, limiting accessibility to the island. All camping reservations will be canceled and reservation holders will be provided a full refund. Rep. Moore: Statement on boosting funding for lead service line removal

On July 1st, the House passed (by a bipartisan vote of 240-181) an amendment introduced by Congresswoman Gwen Moore, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, Congressman David Cicilline, and Congressman Dan Kildee that would authorize $4.5 billion in funding over the next five fiscal years for lead service line replacement projects.
