Wisdems: Campaigns in Wisconsin adjust to COVID-19 conditions as they prep for November

(WISCONSIN) — Shortly before the state-wide April election, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin converted their entire field team into a digital operation that, after scoring a major victory against a Trump-backed candidate, has proven to be a winning model for campaigning in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the DPW and the Biden for Wisconsin team are running a Coordinated Campaign that will continue to deliver Democratic victories up and down the ticket. Meanwhile, Wisconsin Republicans continue to ignore the severity of COVID-19 as they hold in-person conventions, knock on the doors of potentially at risk individuals, and undermine the Governor’s

Then, in what felt like a split second, our business nearly melted down when our store full of customers emptied. I panicked a little, had a sleepless night, and then doubled down on the only way I knew to stay connected to my customers and keep the lights on – digital commerce and online marketing. Thanks to our online presence and the free and low-cost tools from Facebook, Google and other digital partners, our store is

This morning, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published a blistering story about shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) at senior care facilities across Wisconsin. The article details how the Trump Administration sent “unusable” supplies to nursing home facilities around the state such as expired gloves and masks not formally approved by the FDA, forcing some staff members to “wear cloth gowns made out of bedsheets and other linens in order to conserve their limited supplies.” In response to the new reporting, Biden for President Wisconsin State Director Danielle Melfi released the following statement: “The Trump Administration has fumbled their response to the coronavirus at every turn,

MPPOA: On declaration of no confidence

An overwhelming majority of the membership of the Madison Professional Police Officers’ Association (MPPOA) has approved a declaration of no confidence in the leadership of Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway. This was a resolute vote, with over 95% of the Association’s voting membership returning a vote of “no confidence.” The MPPOA did not make this decision easily or in haste. Instead, our vote of no confidence is the culmination of many months of frustration in the absence of effective leadership from the Mayor. On March 25, 2019 we proudly announced our endorsement of Satya Rhodes-Conway for Mayor after she committed herself to

WisDems: Calls out Trump’s anti-women agenda

(WISCONSIN) — Since the moment he became president, Trump has used his power to dismantle women’s access to affordable, quality health care, appoint United States Supreme Court Justices with agendas hostile to women’s rights, and make it even harder for working families to afford child care. In response, women have run for and won public office at record levels. In Wisconsin in 2018, Sarah Godlewski won and flipped the red Wisconsin Treasurer position blue, Robyn Vining won an assembly seat once held by Scott Walker in the WOW counties, and Patty Schachtner won a state senate seat held by Republicans for
