Latino Chamber of Commerce and Black Chamber of Commerce leaders are calling for more volunteers and government help to make sure Latino- and Black-owned businesses have access to economic assistance and know how to safely open their businesses.  Latino chamber President Jessica Cavazos (pictured above) and Black chamber President Camille Carter said one of the biggest problems businesses faced during the COVID-19 pandemic was a lack of education on how to take advantage of government assistance programs like the Paycheck Protection Program and small business loans. Dept. of Health Services: More than 220,000 Wisconsin households to receive additional FoodShare benefits for July and August in response to COVID-19 pandemic

 Benefits will be available August 9 and August 23 The public health emergency declared by Governor Tony Evers on July 30 enables the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) to once again provide additional FoodShare benefits to eligible households. These benefits will help those Wisconsin families with the costs of food for July and August. Initial review finds enough signatures for West to make prez ballot, but challenge deadline looming today

The Elections Commission’s initial review of entertainer Kanye West’s nomination papers puts him above the signature threshold needed to qualify for Wisconsin’s presidential ballot. But there is a deadline of 4:30 p.m. today to file challenges to his nomination papers, and the commission won’t determine whether West met all of the qualifications to be placed on the ballot until sometime after next week’s primary and before late August, an agency spokesman says.
