Madison reports nearly 80 percent turnout as of early afternoon

Madison had already seen nearly 80 percent turnout of registered voters by early afternoon. According to the 2 p.m. update from the city clerk’s office, 29,601 people had voted at the polls. UW-Madison: Voting on campus going smoothly

There have been no problems or major delays at the seven City of Madison polling locations on campus, according to the City Clerk. Many UW–Madison students are among the 6,000 people serving as Madison poll workers today.   Media are welcome to cover voting activities provided you observe city and campus public health protocols, including wearing face coverings and maintaining physical distancing.   Locations are: University Club, Pyle Center, University Apartments Community Center at Eagle Heights, Wisconsin Energy Institute, The Nick, Chazen Museum of Art, Memorial Union.   A total of 7,268 people cast early ballots on campus Oct. 20-30.
