-- After the Joint Finance Committee today rejected a $73.2 million request to fund two state-run youth lockups, Corrections Secretary Kevin Carr said the decision makes it "very unlikely" that Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake can be closed by the mid-2021 deadline.
JFC Republicans cited a lack of funding and criticized the process that selected locations in Milwaukee and the Town of Hortonia in Outagamie County in denying the request.
