DOT: Three-week closure of Madison beltline ramps at Todd drive, Fish Hatchery road

The following interchange ramps along the Madison Beltline (US 12/18) will be closed starting Monday (March 29) until Monday, April 19, 2021 (see attached map). Todd Drive ramp to the eastbound Beltline; and Eastbound Beltline ramp to southbound Fish Hatchery Road. Access will remain open for northbound Fish Hatchery Road. Motorists must use alternate local routes during these closures. The ramp closures and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change. This construction project – scheduled for completion in December 2021 – is improving the Madison Beltline inside median shoulders for use as an additional travel lane during peak traffic periods

MILWAUKEE – Kirsten Johnson, Milwaukee’s newly-appointed commissioner of health, will be the featured guest at a virtual event set for noon on Friday, April 16. This Newsmaker Lunch Hour is presented by a partnership between the Milwaukee Press Club, and  WisPolitics.com. Dept. of Transportation: Speed limit reduced near I-39/90 interchange work zones in Madison, Janesville, Beloit

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is reminding motorists the speed limit within the I-39/90 Project work zones is reduced to 60 mph. The work zones are located at the I-39/90 interchanges with: US 12/18 (Beltline) (Exit 142 A-B) in Madison; WIS 26/Milton Avenue (Exit 171A) and US 14/Humes Road (Exit 171B) in Janesville; and I-43/WIS 81 interchange (Exit 185) in Beloit. Work zone safety is one of WisDOT’s top priorities. Penalties for careless driving in work zones are steep. To enforce these speed limits and other traffic laws, the Wisconsin State Patrol will increase patrols and conduct aerial surveillance.
