Milwaukee County Transit System: To increase capacity limit starting Monday, April 12

MILWAUKEE (April 8, 2021) — The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) will increase its capacity limit from 15 to 20 passengers per bus starting Monday, April 12, 2021 — while still requiring the use of masks and encouraging best health practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This adjustment, which comes as a growing number of people in Milwaukee County become vaccinated, aligns with phased reopening plans and relaxed restrictions from health officials. Permitting additional passengers on board enables MCTS to better serve those who need reliable, on-time transportation to work, school, medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other important destinations. WisGOP: Ron Kind is the “biggest tease in Wisconsin politics”

[Madison, WI] – In case you missed it, Rep. Ron Kind has been coined the “biggest tease in Wisconsin politics” due to his 20-year history of talking about running for higher office but failing to follow through. Ron Kind’s failure to deliver, however, is par for the course. The entirety of Kind’s career has been one big bait-and-switch, from his efforts to get attention by broadcasting that he is considering running for higher office, to his claims to be bipartisan while simultaneously voting with Nancy Pelosi 96 percent of the time. The only thing consistent about Ron Kind is his failure to

Common Cause: Testimony in opposition to Senate Bill 207, Senate Bill 210, Senate Bill 213

Common Cause in Wisconsin (CC/WI) is one of the state’s largest non-partisan political reform advocacy organizations with more than 8,000 members and activists residing in every county of the state. We have been active in Wisconsin since our founding in 1970. We oppose three of the measures being considered by this Senate Committee today and urge members of this committee to vote against their passage. SB 207: This bill would regulate private grants for election administration and prohibit certain people from being poll workers. Specifically, the bill would Prohibit municipalities or counties from receiving private grants for election administration but

The CDC has established criteria for

DCCC: Far right extremist and failed candidate Derrick Van Orden can’t be trusted to fight for WI-03

Far right extremist Derrick Van Orden just announced he’s running again for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District after voters already rejected his out-of-touch agenda.   Since his last failed candidacy, Van Orden has doubled down on his far-right bone fides by baselessly and dangerously casting doubt on the results of his own election and propagating the “Big Lie” which led to the insurrectionist mob attacking the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. Van Orden also proudly promoted his own participation in the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th that killed a Capitol police officer.  Van Orden’s disastrous record also includes making anti-Semitic slights and touting his own history of sexual harassment and abuse of female military officers in his 2015 book.   “Wisconsinites have already rejected Derrick Van Orden’s extremist and divisive brand of politics, and his latest actions undermining the results of the election and marching side

WisDems: WI-3 Voters Not Having Second Thoughts about Rejecting Extremist Derrick Van Orden

Contact: DPW Communications (press@wisdems.org) (MADISON) — In response to failed Congressional candidate Derrick Van Orden’s announcement that he will run again to represent Wisconsin’s 3rd District, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler issued the following statement: “Derrick Van Orden is a self-confessed sexual harasser and a failed candidate who voters rejected as too extreme for Wisconsin just months ago. Since then, Congressman Ron Kind has helped bring home $1,400 survival checks and critical funding for vaccine distribution, schools, child care, and more.
