Budget committee puts $34.4 million more into corrections as Dems decry lack of reforms

Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) sent a letter to the acting chief of U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Yogananda Pittman requesting information regarding unauthorized access to the Capitol through the upper west terrace doors on January 6. Dept. of Natural Resources: Assisting with cleanup of manure spill near the town Of Merrill

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is assisting with the investigation of a manure spill that occurred at a dairy farm in southern Lincoln County that resulted in a fish kill in Devil Creek. On the evening of June 9, 2021, the DNR was notified of an unknown amount of liquid manure running off of a field into Devil Creek, a cool-cold headwater stream and tributary of the Wisconsin River, resulting in an observable fish kill at multiple locations within Devil Creek. HUD: Awards $8.1 million in American Rescue Plan funds for emergency housing vouchers in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisc. – U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Marcia L. Fudge today announced the awarding of the first tranche of American Rescue Plan funds for Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs) for individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Specifically, HUD is awarding Wisconsin $8.1 million to cover the cost of 730 vouchers and related administrative costs, including up-front costs needed to stand up the program, for an initial 18-month period.
