Dept. of Transportation: Closures, detours Monday night for I-43/WIS 81 bridge removal over I-39/90, Beloit

Reconstruction work is ongoing at the I-39/90 and I-43/WIS 81 interchange (Exit 185) in Beloit, and crews have one more night of bridge removal on Monday night (August 23). Sections of I-39/90 and I-43 near the Beloit interchange will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday night. I-39/90 traffic will use the current interchange ramps at Exit 185 to bypass the closure. I-43 and WIS 81 traffic should follow the message boards along the marked detour route during the overnight closures. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to reach their destination.

Nighttime work is expected to begin Monday (August 23) along I-39/90/94 at the US 51 and WIS 19 bridges near Windsor in Dane County. Crews will perform concrete deck repairs and place a polymer overlay on the Interstate bridges over US 51 and WIS 19. A polymer overlay is a type of treatment that enhances safety and durability of a bridge deck by waterproofing and increasing traction on the driving surface.
