UW Health: Local partnership strives to prevent violent injuries

MADISON, Wis. – On National Injury Prevention Day, UW Health is shining a light on prevention of violent injuries, particularly from firearms. In 2019, UW Health’s Level I Adult Trauma Center treated 85 patients for injuries related to violence, of which 23 were firearm related. MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is reminding consumers to check for possible invasive pests before purchasing holiday décor. In previous years, plant health inspectors have intercepted evergreen decorations infested with invasive insects hitching a ride into Wisconsin from other states. Dept. of Natural Resources: First barn owl nest documented in Wisconsin in 20+ years

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reports a rare barn owl nest was documented in Wisconsin for the first time in more than 20 years.
