U.S. Rep. Ron Kind told Dems “it’s not too early to be thinking about next year” and the upcoming 2022 elections.

Kind, D-La Crosse, touted the bills passed through the U.S. House on infrastructure and election reform, as well as the latest COVID-19 relief package. He said it’s essential that Dems hold on to Congress in the midterms in order to continue passing such legislation.

“I know it’s a tall order, and I know we’re gathered here to celebrate, but it’s not too early to be thinking about next year and it’s incredibly high stakes,” he said.

Kind also warned Dems they faced a GOP “that poses an existential threat to the survival of our democracy.” He said Republicans, led by former President Donald Trump, have made it clear they don’t intend to rearrange election rules and sow doubt on its legitimacy in order to score political power.
