-- The Evers administration today urged lawmakers to approve an additional $92.3 million to boost the salaries of prison guards and nurses on top of the raises they were already to receive under the budget approved in July.
The request was sent to lawmakers in addition to the administration's plan for the $147.8 million in general purpose revenue that was included in the state budget to pay for raises of 2 percent on Jan. 1, 2022, and Jan. 1, 2023, for most state employees.
