-- Gov. Tony Evers is proposing $2.3 million to support the use of body cameras for Capitol Police, DNR wardens and the State Patrol as part of his budget.
The proposal comes on the heels of a DOJ survey that found more than a third of Wisconsin law enforcement agencies don't use them. The survey of 553 agencies was conducted in November and asked about their use of body and squad car cameras.
There also has been a push from some to expand the use of body cameras as there's been renewed attention on officer-involved deaths.
