THU PM Update: State’s 7-day average of COVID-19 cases hits 1,000 per day

-- The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in the state continues its steep climb, rising to 1,000 cases per day.
That's the first time the average has been that high since early February. The seven-day average for new cases had dipped below 70 cases per day in mid-June.
The Department of Health Services dashboard shows 1,573 new cases were identified yesterday, which is the most added in a single day since early February. There were 1,386 new confirmed cases on Tuesday.
