TUE PM Update: Evers signs 4 policing bills, including one on chokeholds

-- Gov. Tony Evers today signed four policing bills into law, including a bill to ban chokeholds with some exceptions.
The bills originated in the Speaker's Task Force on Racial Disparities co-chaired by Reps. Jim Steineke, R-Kaukauna, and Shelia Stubbs, D-Madison. Despite his call for a ban without exceptions, the guv signed SB 121, which bans police use of chokeholds except if officers feel their life is at risk or they are using a chokehold in self-defense.
