WisDATCP: Langlade County deer farm depopulated due to CWD

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) confirms that a Langlade County deer farm that tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD) in 2021 has been depopulated. None of the 47 deer that remained at the property tested positive for CWD. The 6-acre farm had been under quarantine since CWD was detected in August 2021, meaning no animals or animal carcasses were permitted off of the property. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Wildlife Services depopulated the herd on May 18, and samples were tested at the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, Iowa.

WisDems: ICYMI: Call for more gun legislation ahead of state NRA convention

MILWAUKEE, Wis — In case you missed it, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler and State Representatives Deb Andraca and Kalan Haywood condemned the NRA’s State Conference happening this weekend in Brookfield and called for “more action from Republican lawmakers regarding common sense gun laws.” Republicans running for governor oppose most efforts to make Wisconsinites safer from gun violence. Rebecca Kleefisch, Kevin Nicholson, and Tim Ramthun all support permitless gun carry, a measure that 76% of Wisconsinites oppose. Tim Michels again and again refuses to comment on how to make Wisconsinites safer from gun violence, and when asked about the U.S. Senate’s bipartisan gun safety package, which even Mitch McConnell supported, Michels said only,

WisDems: Michels wants to resurrect Walker-Kleefisch’s Foxconn deal, risking more wasted tax dollars

MADISON, Wis. — While speaking at a Lake Country Patriots meeting last night, Tim Michels  came out in support of Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch’s disastrous Foxconn deal, saying that if he’s elected governor, he’s “going to try and put that Foxconn deal back together.” Michels’ support for the Walker-Kleefisch Foxconn deal could potentially put the state back on the line for billions in taxpayer-funded handouts, years after the company failed to meet its obligations to the state despite a record-breaking $3 billion in subsidies from Wisconsin taxpayers. TIM MICHELS:  “I don’t know if I’ll be able to get it done at Foxconn, but I’ll
