Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce: July Economic Trends report for metro Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – Business activity indicators in the metro area showed signs of economic slowdown in July, according to a monthly report by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), as 10 of 22 available July indicators improved from year-ago levels. Dept. of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection: Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza confirmed in Washington County

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has identified a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a backyard flock in Washington County. This is Wisconsin’s first confirmed case of HPAI in a domestic flock since May. This year, 23 flocks in 15 counties have been confirmed with HPAI. All infected flocks are depopulated to prevent spread of the disease. Right to Life: Dept. of Veterans Affairs will provide abortion access to veterans

Today, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced their plans to offer abortion access and abortion counseling to veterans and eligible dependents in cases of rape, incest, and pregnancies that endanger the life or health of the mother. This ruling would allow VA physicians to perform abortions on federal property in states where abortion is illegal or restricted, including in Wisconsin.
