Weekly GOP radio address: Sen. Joan Ballweg criticizes Gov. Tony Evers for his economic policies and distributions of federal covid relief funds

I’m State Senator Joan Ballweg. Governor Evers is out of touch with the financial realities that hard-working middle class families face every single day. Since 2020, the federal government has given billions of dollars to the state of Wisconsin in Covid relief money. Rather than work with the legislature to determine the most impactful way to disperse these funds, the Governor has determined that his opinion alone is more important than that of the 132 elected members of the State Legislature who hail from every corner of the state. He has decided to go on a spending spree, using your

Weekly Dem radio address: Sen. Melissa Agard says the Republican tax plan would result in a $577 million property tax increase

Hi, this is Sen. Melissa Agard with this week’s Democratic Radio Address.  It’s that time of year when you hear a lot of vague promises about how improving education is someone’s top priority.  My Republican colleagues like to talk about giving parents choices.  What they don’t like to talk about is how their plan would affect you and your community. That’s because their plan would result in a $577 million property tax increase. You don’t have to take my word for it.  Earlier this session, the majority party passed AB 970, which would eliminate income and participation limits in the Parental Choice

Sen. Darling: Evers campaigns with anti-parent teachers’ union leader

Madison – Tony Evers made his choice. He’s once again siding with anti-parent union leader Randi Weingarten and not parents and their children.  The chair of the Senate’s Education Committee, Senator Alberta Darling, says she is disappointed Evers is willing to campaign with someone who believes parents having a say in their kids’ education is the way wars start. “Tony Evers has been beholden to the teacher’s union since they first got him elected as State Superintendent. He’s remained in lockstep as Governor, vetoing bills that prioritize students and empower parents.” Darling said, “Governor Evers is in the race of
