MADISON — Today, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, candidate for U.S. Senate, joined former President Barack Obama for a rally in Milwaukee to talk about the importance of defeating Ron Johnson and the fight to rebuild Wisconsin’s middle class by electing Mandela Barnes. Former President Barack Obama said: “I know there are some folks, maybe not in this auditorium but in Wisconsin, who think — and I know these ads are running this way — that just because Mandela’s named Mandela, that just because he’s a Democrat with a funny name he must not be not like you, he must not share your
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – As Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels campaigns near the north side of Milwaukee today, Governor Tony Evers will be joined by former President Barack Obama at a rally celebrating one of the nation’s poorest performing public schools. “For generations of kids stuck at schools like North Division, the education establishment continues to fail them, and Tony Evers’ only solutions are to lower standards, diminish expectations, and raise budgets,” said Michels, an Army veteran and successful Wisconsin business leader. “Instead of having a party today, Governor Evers should apologize for his four decades of failing to offer opportunities to Milwaukee’s students.”
On Wednesday (October 26) National Geographic’s (Nat Geo Travel) came out with its annual list of the world’s 25 best destinations for travelers for 2023. Proudly, Milwaukee made the list, as did a mention of Bronzeville. Here’s a peek: “Wisconsin’s biggest and liveliest city combines a blue-collar, back-thumping energy with a close-knit creative community that’s turning heads beyond the Great Lakes. (Having a winning NBA team, the Bucks, doesn’t hurt either.) Like the 450 motorcycles displayed inside its Harley-Davidson Museum, Milwaukee is revving its engines in 2023. Riverside promenades are being built along its three waterways (the Milwaukee, Kinnickinnic, and Menomonee Rivers), and the
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI – The latest stops on Derrick Van Orden’s 19 county tour of Wisconsin’s 3rd District were Juneau and Adams Counties on Friday. Stop 1 was Wisconsin River Meats in Mauston with Rep. Tony Kurtz where Derrick got to hear about the owners’ never quit mentality after recovering from a fire. From there, he swung by Grand Marsh and the Wooden Nickel for lunch and a conversation with voters. From there, Derrick got to check out some high tech farms at Rosedale Genetics and New Chester Dairy. After discussing the agricultural challenges the family farmers are facing,
How can you run to represent all Wisconsinites when you’ve said you don’t care about half the people in the state?
OSHKOSH – In 2018 during his run for Lt. Governor, Mandela Barnes had a message for voters that may have voted for Obama and then Trump: get lost. Now Barnes is scurrying to reclaim lost ground by inviting Obama into Wisconsin to campaign on his behalf. “It’s not about the Obama-Trump voters. If they voted for Obama then they voted for Trump, and they’re still with him, they can – you can keep ’em,’” Barnes said in a 2018 interview. That’s a harsh message for residents of the 22 Wisconsin counties that supported Barack Obama for president twice before backing Donald Trump twice.
