DNC War Room: Statement ahead of Trump’s closing rallies

DNC spokesperson Ammar Moussa released the following statement ahead of Donald Trump’s rallies in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio: “MAGA Republicans across the country continue to trip over themselves to prove their extreme bonafides and kiss the ring of a failed former president who lost by 7 million votes. They have an extreme agenda of gutting Social Security and Medicare, banning abortion nationwide, making prescription drugs more expensive, extending Trump’s signature tax giveaway to the ultra-wealthy, and spreading his Big Lie. And just like Trump did, they’ll pay the price at the ballot box.” Trump has repeatedly spread baseless conspiracies about

American Bridge 21st Century: Tim Michels’ company was given $500M+ to fix Wisconsin roads. They were also repeatedly fined for damaging them

New reporting in the American Independent found that Tim Michels, the Republican nominee for Wisconsin governor, has received over $500 million in contracts from the Wisconsin government to repair roads and bridges. But there’s a big problem with that. Michels’ company also was repeatedly fined for running overweight trucks on Wisconsin roads — a practice that experts say damages the same roads Michels Corporation was paid hundreds of millions to fix. Michels, who has kept his ownership stake in the Michels Corporation, has faced repeated questions about whether or not he would divest from the company should he win on Tuesday. If he fails to

City of Milwaukee: Likely criminal case looming against former deputy director of the Election Commission

Statement of Milwaukee Common Council members: Alderman Michael J. Murphy, Alderman Robert J. Bauman, Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa, Alderman Mark A. Borkowski, Alderman José G. Pérez, and Alderman Scott Spiker We applaud Mayor Johnson’s decision to terminate the employment of Kimberly Zapata, now former deputy director of the Election Commission. The news that Ms. Zapata reportedly violated her oath and the public trust by fraudulently requesting military absentee ballots – and then sending those ballots to a state legislator – is shocking, sad and extremely disappointing. Although she apparently did this outside of work and on her

WisDems: Tim Michels’ company has no black employees in management roles

MADISON, Wis. — Today, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel highlighted Tim Michels’ company’s lack of diversity, with little or no minorities holding leadership positions. Overall, public records show Michels Corp was, at its most diverse, 88% white, and Michels Corp’s racial diversity in the past decade was far worse than national construction industry averages. This also comes after a report revealed that under Michels’ leadership, multiple cases of sexual assault, harassment, and racial discrimination against female and minority workers were reported. Michels previously described himself as “responsible for everything” at Michels Corp, including worker “safety.” Gov. Evers provides common sense leadership to the Governor’s office, and has been a

Weekly Dem radio address: Rep. Gary Hebl explains the necessity of voting in the upcoming midterm elections

Hi, this is Rep. Gary Hebl with this week’s Democratic Radio Address. There are so many great things that are associated with Wisconsin – some of the world’s best cheese, our history of beer brewing, supper clubs and the Milwaukee Bucks and the Green Bay Packers, just to name a few. From the earliest days of statehood, Wisconsinites have taken pride in civic engagement. We believe in democracy. We seek to make our communities better. And we have always found a way to bridge our differences.  And one of the most important ways we express our civic mindedness is by voting. Next Tuesday

UW-Madison: UW–Madison scientists and staff key in revealing neutrinos emanating from galactic neighbor with a gigantic black hole

MADISON – On Earth, billions of subatomic particles called neutrinos pass through us every second, but we never notice because they rarely interact with matter. Because of this, neutrinos can travel straight paths over vast distances unimpeded, carrying information about their cosmic origins. Although most of these aptly named “ghost” particles detected on Earth originate from the Sun or our own atmosphere, some neutrinos come from the cosmos, far beyond our galaxy. These neutrinos, called astrophysical neutrinos, can provide valuable insight into some of the most powerful objects in the universe. For the first time, an international team of scientists

Madison – State Representative Janel Brandtjen, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections, responds to Milwaukee Mayor Johnson’s firing of a Milwaukee Election Commission employee who sent military ballots to Rep Brandtjen’s home. “Unlike Mayor Johnson, I have actually been working on providing Wisconsinites a safe and secure election process. We have uncovered so many issues that demand attention. I have been attacked by the liberal media, democrats who benefit from the system, and republicans who don’t have the backbone to take on the issues, including Speaker Vos, who has referred to me as a conspiracy theorist. Weekly GOP radio address: Sen. Partick Testin explains the need for an end to liberal prison paroles to protect public safety

To combat violent crime, we need to end the liberal catch-and-release policies that are turning violent offenders loose. Hi, I’m State Senator Patrick Testin. As a legislator, I’ve worked with law enforcement – both on bills and on ride-alongs with officers. I’ve spent time with the State Patrol and several sheriff’s departments in the Central Wisconsin district I represent. Nothing that I’d seen though, prepared me for the day that I spent with the Milwaukee Police Department earlier this year. That day, I saw the victim of a homicide – one of 192 people killed in Milwaukee this year. For
