-- The Senate has voted to advance an amendment to a bill co-sponsored by U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin to protect same-sex and interracial marriage.

The Senate yesterday evening voted 61-35 to move forward with the amendment the Madison Dem helped draft. It aims to alleviate GOP concerns about the legislation potentially infringing on religious freedoms.
