-- GOP legislative leaders today dismissed Dem Gov. Tony Evers' $600 million tax cut package as an election-year gimmick to distract voters from the two-year anniversary of the violent protests in Kenosha following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
Evers, two months out from his reelection bid, today proposed a package that included using a portion of a projected $5 billion budget surplus to cut taxes, along with repealing the minimum markup on fuel and capping at $35 the co-pay an insurer could charge for insulin.
