-- Republicans today shrugged off Gov. Tony Evers' call for them to meet to repeal the state's 1849 abortion ban with Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu saying they will "gavel out of another blatantly political special session call."
Evers has called Republicans into special session on issues such as gun control during his term. But while the guv can call them into special session, he can't compel them to act, and Republicans have quickly gaveled in and out the sessions each time.
