January home sales down nearly 34 percent over the year

January home sales in the state dropped by more than a third over the year as prices rose, according to a recent Wisconsin Realtors Association report.  A total of 3,114 homes were sold in Wisconsin last month, the group’s latest report shows. That’s compared to 4,702 homes sold in January 2022, marking a decline of 33.8 percent.  WRA President and CEO Michael Theo notes in the report that Wisconsin has been experiencing a seller’s market for nearly six years. Waukesha County Exec Farrow: Declares state of emergency

(WAUKESHA, WI) – County Executive Paul Farrow declared a State of Emergency today due to hazardous road and weather conditions and announced that all non-essential Waukesha County operations closed effective at 2:30pm today, February 22, 2023. County offices will reopen on Thursday, February 23, at 8 a.m. unless the closure is extended by the County Executive. All 24-hour operations such as the Communication Center, Jail, Mental Health Center and Sheriff’s Department are not affected by the closure and will maintain their regular schedule.
