-- Gov. Tony Evers announced today his budget will propose increasing the eligibility for a property tax credit for veterans and surviving spouses, which would provide an additional $53.2 million in tax breaks over the biennium.

Under his plan, the existing credit would be extended to those with a disability rating of at least 70 percent. Currently, eligibility is set at 100 percent disabled. That move would cost $43.2 million.
