The Joint Finance Committee will meet Thursday to vote on eight agency budgets, including the Department of Safety and Professional Services.
It will be the committee’s first meeting on the budget in three weeks.
The committee will take up three areas of the DSPS budget: department-wide, safety and building programs, and regulation and professions.

Dem Gov. Tony Evers called for adding 30 full-time equivalent positions at the agency. That includes 14 for call center staff within the Division of Professional Credential Processing and another 10 positions in that area to process license applications.
The committee today also noticed plans to vote on:
- secretary of state
- Employee Trust Funds
- lieutenant governor
- state treasurer
- Fox River Navigational System Authority
- Lower Wisconsin Riverway Board
- State Fair Park
The committee last met May 8 to strip 612 items that Evers included in the budget. It also approved standard budget adjustments for 10 agencies, including the guv’s office and the Judicial Commission.
