The final Marquette University Law School Poll ahead of next week’s election found Dem David Crowley with an edge on GOP rival Tom Tiffany in Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race.
Fifty-one percent of likely voters backed Crowley, the Milwaukee County executive, while 44% backed Tiffany, a GOP congressman from Minocqua.
By comparison, it was 49-46 for Crowley in the last poll, which was released Sept. 30.
Independents backed Crowley 56-26 in the latest survey.
Poll Director Charles Franklin noted that the 7-point spread in this month’s poll was within the poll’s margin of error.
The survey of 686 likely voters was conducted Oct 14-22. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.
