I’m not convinced Harris is the best candidate for the Democrats. However, Biden stepping aside gives the Democrats a chance to put their best step forward. Or, in the case of Harris, at least a better step forward.

Now that Joe Biden has — at long last — dropped out of the race, the Democrats should not rush to select his replacement on the ticket. They’ve got almost four weeks before their convention and they should take that time to get it right.

If you were hoping for a more compassionate and civil Trump, that lasted only about 20 minutes.
