Less than 24 hours before Donald J. Trump was to be “proudly” arrested, booked, fingerprinted and have his mug shot taken at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta (in primetime!), eight of the Republicans gathered for the Fox News debate in Milwaukee Wednesday night.
The old GOP playbook of tax cuts, a defense buildup, and a conservative take on cultural issues just won’t cut it anymore. Demographic and cultural changes, increased suburbanization, and the technology revolution are all working against the current Republican Party.
Indeed, while Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election may be the issue of the moment, the debate reminded Americans that the original Big Lie of Republican politics was, is, and by all available evidence will continue to be climate denial.
The Republican Debate in Milwaukee is now in the books.
Trump because he had a reported 80 million viewers the same time of his Tucker Carlson interview at the same time as the debate while the debate had only 15 million viewers. Milwaukee and Wisconsin were also winners because the debate was at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee; the same building as the convention next year.
Or should Rebecca Bradley? Her comment was less factual and more scathing.
Let’s face it. The Wisconsin Supreme Court is a hot mess.
There have been several examples of this occuring in various small communities around the country, and one here in Wisconsin that has raised eyebrows.
