GOP guv hopeful Tim Michels pumped another $5 million into his guv campaign over a 37-day period, bringing his personal commitment to the race to $15.7 million, according to a check of the latest campaign finance reports.

Among other things, Joint Audit Committee Chair Rob Cowles, R-Green Bay, and Vice-chair John Macco, R-Ledgeview, want to know how much the state spent on security for the two between July 1, 2021, and Aug. 31, 2022. They also want to know how the Wisconsin State Patrol decides what level of protection to provide.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, has filed a lawsuit seeking to block a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Vice President Kamala Harris said Wisconsin “will help decide the future of our country, and that is what Wisconsin does” during an interview at the end of her stop in Milwaukee last week.
