Citations, arrests could help munis meet law enforcement commitment requirement in GOP shared revenue bill

Republicans’ shared revenue bill would allow municipalities to cite the number of citations for moving violations or arrests for breaking local ordinances in the previous year to meet requirements for additional state aid. That’s even though state law bars state agencies or municipalities from requiring a law enforcement officer to meet a quota for traffic violation citations.

DOJ announces sexual assault charges against defrocked priest

AG Josh Kaul announced a defrocked former cardinal had been charged with fourth-degree sexual assault for an incident that allegedly occurred in April 1977. Theodore McCarrick, 92, is the second person charged after the Attorney General’s Clergy and Faith Leader Abuse Initiative received a complaint.
