In my first handicapping of state legislature control of the 2024 cycle, I find 12 chambers that are competitive—either Leans Republican, Toss-up, or Leans Democratic. Compared to recent election cycles, that’s a medium number of competitive chambers.
Democrats should run Chuck Schumer. He’s kind of like what Biden was four years ago. A seemingly non-radical veteran of the national scene.

What the new governance structure looks like is for the community to consider. What’s imperative is that we do not keep governing MPS the same way, expecting a different outcome.
