Two women whose names are familiar to Americans who pay attention to the country’s politics weighed in this week on the race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. What they had to say is worth repeating.

Bezos may be unmatched as an e-commerce visionary, but he knows little about journalism. It seems clear his real reason for interfering with the endorsement was fear of retribution should Donald Trump win.

It is probably too late for Democrats to change strategies and win over voters who have fallen in line behind former President Trump. However, in the future, Democrats should remember Rep. Moore’s wise words and follow her instructions about how to win over voters by listening and understanding them rather than judging and insulting them.

I cannot stress enough the importance of voting. It is the bedrock of our democracy to keep our constitutional republic thriving. We must not take this right for granted; make your voice heard.

While we need to elect candidates who will smash the barriers that are holding working-class voters back and make Election Day a federal holiday, we also need to elect leaders who will fight for working people instead of corporations. Our voice matters. And it starts with making the time to vote.

Local leaders on the margins of the election system should not determine if drop boxes are used.
