Before flinging too many stones at their neighbor, Wisconsin Republicans might want to ponder why it is that Minnesota’s economy in a seven-year period grew 11% to Wisconsin’s 8%, and wages in the Gopher state rose 9.7% compared to our 6.4%.
The headlines from the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago included news that legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor got bumped but country artists Mickey Guyton and Jason Isbell performed for attendees. It speaks to the power of music that politicians from both parties want to tap into.
Recently, the Wisconsin Policy Forum released a comprehensive overview of the education landscape in Milwaukee. The report is likely eye-opening for many—and shows just how far behind Milwaukee’s students are in comparison to the rest of the state and the nation. But, much of the media coverage of this report seems to focus on the notion that education reform has failed in the city.

Many volunteer poll workers are political junkies, so this random selection drags people into the process who are casual voters and less passionate about the political parties, their platforms and candidates. Try rigging an election when half of the people in the room are only there because they faced prosecution if they didn’t show up.
