Did you know that Clint Eastwood returned his Oscars to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences over his disgust with progressive Hollywood? Neither did we.

Among the first news outlets to pick up on the May 29 unveiling of the $100 million Wisconsin Investment Fund were two outside the state – the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in Washington and U.S. News & World Report. Both took note within hours.

The front-page story by the Washington Post is an embarrassment for Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Willie Hines Jr., the executive director of the city Housing Authority and former Common Council president. It portrays a battle by the mostly elderly residents of College Court Apartments on 33rd and Highland to get the patio at the complex reopened.

It is not a place if we had a real choice, where we would be standing. Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has not demonstrated the wisdom or soundness of action while holding the gavel.

As the hush money trial of former President Donald Trump finally goes to the jury, it’s worth reflecting on the widespread failure of the media to keep in mind that a trial is not just about facts. A trial is where facts meet law.

High-tension situations can lead to tragic consequences for suspects and police. In a better world, police officers never would have to draw their weapons and use deadly force to resolve an issue.

Bald eagles in Wisconsin are starting to make a steady comeback thanks to conservation efforts. Unfortunately, also on the rise are the number of eagles being poisoned by lead.

There’s a silver lining behind all those clouds for Joe Biden. Unless it’s clouds threatening his silver lining.

The terrible problem of monsters sexually assaulting children and pimping them out for money seems to be getting worse. Is the internet fueling it? Probably, but there isn’t much we can do about that. But we can certainly make at least a small dent in this crisis by reversing one of Joe Biden’s most insane policy decisions.

The Republican National Committee decided to hold the party’s 2024 convention in Milwaukee for the same reason that the Democratic National Committee decided to hold their party’s 2020 convention in Wisconsin’s largest city.

During the Walker administration, we enacted some of the boldest reforms in the nation. Five years later, Wisconsin still ranks second in the nation on the Federalism Scorecard issued by the State Policy Network. Our reforms protected the role of elected officials over unelected bureaucrats and prevented the federal government from exerting undue influence over state policy.

Portland OR, once a caliphate of Antifa, has been mugged by reality. Voters in the Oregon metro region tossed its progressive district attorney this week in favor of a law ’n order guy, endorsed by the police. A former Republican! Portland is the third large West Coast city to quit Crazy, after Seattle and San Francisco.

Welcome Comrade, to East Germany Madison, where we insist that not only you turn over your private data on your private property to us, the energy police, but we also, for your convenience comrade, tell you to what say and think about our demands.

We all learned about the water cycle when we were kids. As a reminder, it’s the process by which water on the earth’s surface gets heated up by the sun and then evaporates and rises and condenses into clouds and then — as rain or snow or some other form of precipitation — falls back to the earth’s surface, where the cycle begins anew. It’s grade-school science that as adults, we mostly take for granted.

The Israeli military has recovered 7 more bodies of Israeli hostages murdered by Hamas and taken to Gaza on October 7, 2023. Once again there’s no daylight between President Joe Biden, Wisconsin Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin (and me) regarding unequivocal condemnations of the Hamas slaughter of 1,200 Israelis and abduction of 250 Israeli hostages. successes of others.

As President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared in his 1953 proclamation, “Let us make the day one of twofold dedication. Let us reverently honor those who have fallen in war, and rededicate ourselves through prayer to the cause of peace, to the end that the day may come when we shall never have another war — never another unknown soldier.”

Gratitude is the antidote Wisconsinites can use in a time of grievance.

AG is withholding information about ‘wandering officers.’

Despite no law in Wisconsin authorizing the use of drop boxes—and the legislature deciding not to pass one when presented with the opportunity–this case could result in the Court circumventing the legislature and legalizing drop boxes anyway. The Court should respect the will of the people and their representatives in this matter and reject these efforts to drastically upend how Wisconsinites vote.
