Wisconsin Republican lawmakers have a plan to eliminate taxes on retirement income for most individuals over 67.
Following the second federal indictment charging former President Donald Trump with conspiring to overturn the 2020 election, Trump supporters claimed he truly believed Democrats stole the election from him. The belief, they asserted, justified his schemes to remain in power.
Despite the terrible nature of the attacks, and the thousands of deaths of Americans as well as citizens of other countries, as a national community we were remarkably mature.
The Iowa model, with its emphasis on anti-partisan gerrymandering and collaboration between a commission and the Legislature, appeared promising. But we also recognized a crucial fact: what works for Iowa doesn’t necessarily work for Wisconsin.

Milwaukee’s commitment to closing the digital divide should not only be about providing high-speed internet access but also about ensuring that every resident has the skills and tools to harness the potential of the digital world.
Now that the State Budget is finished, I am dedicating my attention to individual pieces of legislation that will impact the communities and people I serve.
It’a bipartisan issue affecting Milwaukee and the entire country. Congress must act.
At the end of this needless absurdity, the Speaker may need to ask the grown-ups in the House, that being moderate Republicans and members of the Democratic caucus, to vote for the final spending deal.
