The upshot of Gallagher’s departure is that Wisconsin is losing a voice of sanity within the increasingly Trump-captured Republican Party.

When it came time to vote to impeach Trump, Gallagher refused to join the 10 House Republicans — including House Republican Conference chair Liz Cheney — who voted for basic accountability.

It’s really quite simple: If Joe Biden and the Democrats really wanted to secure our nation’s border, then they’d give the American citizens a clean bill that actually secures the border and protects American citizens.

We need a president who through the ages it has become second nature to treat every person with dignity and respect. Who uses his power to uplift those around us; not demean and disparage those who of are no benefit to him.

Let’s get serious about replacing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket.

Perhaps retiring Gallagher could provide one last official service to his country: lead House Republicans to support military aid for Ukraine and Israel.

While his congressional brethren were seeking impeachments of President Biden or the head of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas or grasping to hold onto every conspiracy theory, Gallager effectively used his time in Congress to dig into some weighty issues of our time.

The quiet part was said out loud. In an official document, written by a government watchdog.

Biden is a good man who has done a good job, but he’s just too old and frail for the rigors of being president going forward.
