In a hasty hearing that was over in time for lunch, they eliminated 545 provisions in Gov. Tony Evers’ proposed budget on Tuesday in a single, straight party-line vote.

Evers wants to limit the value of the Manufacturing and Agriculture Tax Credit and raise taxes on manufacturers by more than $650 million in his proposed budget, despite the state having a projected $7.1 billion surplus.

The shared revenue bill that the Assembly Republicans just introduced would ban counties and municipalities from putting advisory referendums on the ballot.

Why won’t those we elect value children, people and life as much as they value guns?

Everyone who enters a school should feel safe and never feel vulnerable.

At only 36, Johnson is already showing himself to be the kind of pol that combines big visions with the ability to work behind the scenes to make gritty deals.

In my lifetime, there were rural voters in many communities who were electing Democrats to represent them. I bet if enough politicians with a D behind their names ever figure out that rural folks want more for their communities than reasons to be resentful, they’d do it again.
