Even with the pandemic, changes to schedules and fewer opportunities to move around the 17th Senate District in person, 2020 was a very productive, fruitful year for me as your State Senator.

There is reason for hope as the curtain falls on 2020.

The greatest deterrent to re-incarceration is a good job, and the key to a good job is a good education.

Reflecting on this extraordinarily difficult year, I am struck both by how fortunate we are to live in Madison and by how many people are not able to share in the city’s riches.

The new proposal before the Surface Transportation Board would change regulators’ definition and application of revenue adequacy, creating a landscape where strong financial performance and return on investment is treated as a negative outcome, rather than a success.
