State GOP files lawsuit to halt privately funded GOTV effort in Milwaukee

The state GOP has filed a new lawsuit seeking to shut down a privately funded effort to turn out voters in Milwaukee, arguing involvement by city officials violates state law. The suit seeks a finding that Milwaukee Votes 2022 and the city’s involvement in promoting it violates Wisconsin law. It also seeks an order permanently enjoining the initiative or any similar effort.
