MADISON, Wisc. (November 7, 2017)—The Wisconsin Senate today voted to advance a bill that would move the display of all tobacco products behind store counters. Sara Sahli, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s government relations director for Wisconsin, issued the following statement:

“I want to thank the bill authors, Sen. Sheila Harsdorf and Rep. Jeff Mursau and the rest of the Senate for getting this much-needed fix to the Assembly. Other tobacco products such as little cigars should not be out on the store floor – in some cases these products are even displayed next to the candy and snacks, which the current law allows. Now we turn to the Assembly, and ask them to make this bill a priority during the current legislative session.”

Sahli is available for interviews. Contact Jennifer Amundson to schedule.
