Free-Market Activists Thanks Legislators for Protecting Small Businesses

MADISON, WI – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin today kicked off a grassroots activist campaign to thank five key lawmakers for their efforts to protect craft breweries, wineries and distilleries from new regulations pushed by powerful special interests this year. The mailers thank Senator Sheila Harsdorf and Representatives Dale Kooyenga, Gary Tauchen, John Macco, and Shannon Zimmerman for championing SB418 and AB492, also known as the “Cheers Wisconsin” bill.

“AFP-WI activists raise a glass to Senator Harsdorf and Representatives Kooyenga, Tauchen, Macco, and Zimmerman to thank them for protecting Wisconsin small businesses over powerful special interests,” said AFP-Wisconsin Deputy State Director Annette Olson. “As this year’s sneak attack on our small alcohol businesses showed,  Wisconsin’s outdated, three-tiered regulations need to be modernized so that our craft beverage industry can continue to grow, create jobs and drive economic activity throughout our state.  With these mailers, we hope to give these legislative leaders the credit they deserve and encourage future reforms to fix a broken system that benefits big businesses at the expense of the little guy.”
