MADISON, WI – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin continued its grassroots activist campaign to encourage Wisconsin taxpayers to contact U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin and urge her to support ongoing congressional efforts to reform the federal tax code. The group’s canvassing efforts include new door hangers calling on Baldwin to embrace the “Big Six” unified tax reform framework unveiled last week to improve the lives of Wisconsinites. On Friday, AFP-WI began a seven figure investment in television advertisements calling on Baldwin to support the tax reform framework.

The latest round of canvassing comes as AFP-WI’s base of 130,000 activists is ramping up its grassroots organization for next year. AFP-WI recently held a forum on federal tax reform featuring a special message to activists from U.S. Senator Ron Johnson. Throughout the summer, AFP-WI ran digital ads calling on Senator Baldwin to seize the opportunity for tax reform and fix our nation’s broken tax code.

Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin State Director Eric Bott made the following statement:

“Our army of grassroots activists is fully engaged and mobilized as we urge Senator Baldwin to embrace this historic opportunity to fix our broken tax code and put Wisconsin taxpayers first. These canvassing efforts and our television ads will remind Senator Baldwin that her constituents have had enough of the cost, complexity, and, cronyism that pervades our federal tax code. They want real reform and the time for her to step up and deliver is now. Senator Baldwin has repeatedly said she wants to fix our broken tax code but in more than 16 years in Congress, she has done almost nothing to achieve that goal. Now is her chance. We are asking her to unify around the framework that has already been put forward instead of distracting and creating new obstacles to tax reform.”
