Appleton, Wisconsin – Pulse Young Professionals Network, a program of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce the return of Bazaar After Dark, the Fox Cities first night market, on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Bazaar After Dark is dedicated to revitalizing and drawing positive attention to underutilized business districts in the Fox Valley while fostering community collaborations through art, music and common experiences.

The inaugural event lit up Wisconsin Avenue on the evening of September 28, 2016 with the glow of market lighting, food truck headlights, flaming hula hoops and neon body paint. Bazaar After Dark was not only a party but a reason to celebrate the diverse cluster of businesses that line state highway 96 just north of downtown Appleton.

Based on the success of the first Bazaar After Dark (with a remarkable 3,500 attendees), we have made a commitment to host three additional night markets (BAD’s) in 2017. We are also excited to usher in a new partnership with Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block community build meaning that all three of our night market dates will coincide with the location and timing of Rock the Block. These events will serve double duty, bringing an economic injection, unique attention, fun and walkability to occasionally neglected business districts, while also serving as celebration for the 500+ volunteers who make Rock the Block the incredible event that it is.

We are partnering with our friends at Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, the City of Kaukauna and several local downtown Kaukauna businesses to make this first Bazaar After Dark of the year a grand success!

Live art was an important component of our first event and once again an artist will be completing a live mural installation; a gift to the community that can be left behind. The public mural component of the night market is a way of visually demonstrating our commitment to the renewal and growth of each neighborhood, in hopes that the community will join us in investing in its prosperity. The Carrot Project on Second Street has generously donated a wall for this project.

We are currently accepting local artist proposals for the design. Please submit your application by utilizing the following link http://bit.ly/2iVin7V.

Applications to participate as a Bazaar After Dark vendor are also available. Vendor applications can be submitted using the following link http://bit.ly/2iJkbBd.

The first Bazaar After Dark night market of 2017 will also serve as the last event of YP Week 2017. Last year, Bazaar After Dark was made possible by the generous support of Tundraland, City of Appleton, Urban Evolutions, Event Production Systems and several additional contributing partners.
