State Representatives Evan Goyke and Dale Kooyenga honored with Children’s Champion Policy Award

Peggy Troy, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s president and CEO, honored the recipients of the fifth annual Children’s Champion Policy Award, State Representatives Evan Goyke and Dale Kooyenga, on August 30, 2017 at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

The Children’s Champion Policy Award honors public policy leaders in Wisconsin who strive to make a positive impact in the lives of Wisconsin children and families by working to move health and child well-being policy forward.

“Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin applauds Representatives Goyke and Kooyenga for their work in the last several legislative sessions to champion numerous policies to improve health care for children, child abuse and injury prevention laws and initiatives to advance child health and well-being,” said Michelle Mettner, corporate vice president, government & legal affairs, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Representative Goyke (D-Milwaukee) was honored for his work as part of the Committee on Criminal Justice & Public Safety and Family Law. Children’s Hospital appreciates his work on the Child Victims Act and dedication to supporting children and youth who have faced adverse experiences.

Representative Kooyenga (R-Brookfield) was honored for his leadership on the Joint Finance Committee, supporting Medicaid funding and for championing legislation to help ensure nonprofit service providers are able to lead sustainable, innovative programming.

Children’s Hospital looks forward to continuing to work together with our local, state and federal elected officials to ensure Wisconsin’s kids are the healthiest in the nation.
