The Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce today launched a $1.6 million TV and digital ad campaign hitting Dem U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin for supporting tax hikes “rigging the system against us.”

The group said campaign includes two ads that will run statewide, but declined to offer specifics.

In one spot, the narrator says “it seems like the harder we work, the more Washington takes from us. Senators like Tammy Baldwin are the problem.”

She goes on to say Baldwin supported $5 trillion in additional taxes, including hikes on income, sales and energy.

“Rigging the system against us. Standing in the way of more jobs and higher wages. Wisconsin deserves better,” the narrator says to close the spot.

The second ad features Chris Mlejnek, the president of Northwest Builders Inc. in Rice Lake.

He says Baldwin has supported more than $5 trillion in new taxes and “It’s absolutely wrong.”

“If Tammy Baldwin opposes tax reform, it’s proof that she opposes jobs. She opposes higher wages,” he says to close the spot. “I know of nothing that she’s done to help working people like us.”

It’s the third ad campaign in the last week to go up in the U.S. Senate race. Besides the Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce ads, two PACs supporting Republican Kevin Nicholson this month have started bio ads praising him.
