Madison, Wisconsin – Today, Dane County elected officials announced their support for Judge Rebecca Dallet in her campaign for Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Among them include: State Representative Lisa Subeck; Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne; Board of Supervisors members Jamie Kuhn, Dennis O’Loughlin, and Sheila Stubbs; Madison Common Council Alders Mark Clear and Rebecca Kemble; Sun Prairie Alderman Steve Stocker; and Madison School Board Members Dean Loumous and Nicki Vander Muelen.
“I’m supporting Judge Dallet because Wisconsin deserves fair and impartial judges,” said State Representative Lisa Subeck. “It’s our job as legislators to make policy, but judges have a different job. I have confidence that of all the candidates, Judge Dallet best understands that personal beliefs and partisan leanings should not come into play on our courts.”
Dallet is honored to have earned the support of Dane County’s local leaders and elected officials, who join more than 130 current or retired judges from across the state in endorsing her campaign. She looks forward to continuing the fight for fair and independent courts in our state.
Rebecca Dallet is a mom, an experienced attorney, and a judge. She has served on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court for nine years and worked as a prosecutor for more than a decade prior to being elected to the bench. During her career, Dallet worked to put sexual predators behind bars, and prosecuted drug, gun, and violent crime cases in partnership with the U.S. Attorney’s office. She has served as the presiding judge in domestic violence and misdemeanor court, and presided over serious felony, homicide and drug courts, as well as civil court.
With the support of local leaders, elected officials, and judges from across the state, Judge Dallet plans to bring her vision of restoring the independence of the Supreme Court that interprets and upholds the law in a fair and balanced way.
