Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Today Judge Rebecca Dallet, candidate for Wisconsin Supreme Court, released the following statement regarding the Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey results on judicial recusal.
“By an 82-12 margin, the people of Wisconsin want a strong judicial recusal rule. I have been criss-crossing the state talking about exactly this. While my opponents offer their tired, partisan, ideological agendas, I’m the only candidate in the race talking about true judicial independence and impartiality. It’s time to give the people of Wisconsin what we want – a truly independent judicial system.”
Rebecca Dallet is a mom, an experienced attorney, and a judge. She has served on the Circuit Court bench for almost ten years and worked as a prosecutor for more than a decade prior to that. During her career, Dallet worked to put sexual predators behind bars, and prosecuted drug, gun, and violent crime cases. She has served as the presiding judge in domestic violence and misdemeanor court, and presided over serious felony, homicide and drug courts, as well as civil court.
With the support of more than 200 local leaders, elected officials, and judges from across the state, Judge Dallet plans to help restore the independence of the Supreme Court. She believes in fair and impartial courts that interpret and uphold the law in an independent, fair, and balanced manner.
