WHAT: Dane Buy Local Independents Week Press Conference

WHO: Executive Director Colin Murray, Business Owner Harriet Staz Qual Line Fence, Invited Guests to speak include Waunakee Village President, Chris Zellner, Fitchburg Mayor Jason Gonzalez, representatives from the City of Madison, MadRep, and Mark Pocan’s office and our presenting sponsor Heartland Credit Union.
WHY: We will be kicking off 12 days of celebrating independently owned businesses in South Central Wisconsin, including Dane Buy Local Members. “Between June 23 – July 4, 2017, we observe Independents Week. We will showcase the economic develop of locally owned, independent businesses throughout South Central Wisconsin, including Dane Buy Local members. We will highlight unique businesses from all over the area. Members are encouraging the public to “support local” and are offering a variety of activities and promotions during Independents Week,” said Colin Murray, Executive Director of Dane Buy Local.
“We have much to celebrate. Our friends and neighbors embody the spirit of entrepreneurism and individuality. We value their uniqueness and character, as well as their ability to give back in our communities with time, talents, goods, and services to help fulfill community needs,” explained Amy Johnson, president of Dane Buy Local.
